Conquerors aren't just deadly fighters. The Conquerors have beneficial auras that surround them and all friends within range. Some auras are offensive in natures adding to the damage dealt by the party. Some are more of buffing auras granting various benefits to the party.

All in all, Age of Conan is a gory cousin to its older brother World of Warcraft, and while the similarities are apparent Perhaps it deserves its own name. But like WOW, it will have to continue to grow in content and player satisfaction before it earns it.
