Massive going massively multiplayer

With the acquisition of the Tom Clancy brand in March, Ubisoft signaled its intent to enter the massively multiplayer online gaming sphere. Indeed, the French publisher's president and CEO, Yves Guillemot, said that when the deal was announced, a primary motivator for the deal was that it would allow Ubisoft to explore a Tom Clancy-branded massively multiplayer project.

We'd like to take this morning to /salute the gaming moms (and grandmas) out there. From some members of our staff who have gaming moms, to other members of the staff who are gaming moms, they are becoming more and more common in the MMOG/VW landscape.

Kristen Kalning, the games editor of MSNBC, asked her readers, "What game hooked you and why?" After the flood of e-mails finished cascading through her inbox and she tallied the votes in each one, it wasn't surprising that World of Warcraft came up as the leader.

PotBS towns to receive attractive makeovers

The folks in the Environment team at Flying Lab Software have decided that some of the towns in Pirates of the Burning Sea look a little bit sad and outdated, and so they will be giving them graphical overhauls in an upcoming patch.

Renewed marketing, free trials to come following PotBS build 1.5

Flying Lab Software is hoping to breathe new life into Pirates of the Burning Sea with the upcoming Build 1.5. We've already seen that many towns will be getting a face-lift, but now CEO Russell Williams has outlined some of the strategies which he hopes will have new ships sailing into their waters.
